I wonder if your group would benefit from a wiki for the first project. Then you can use your website for trends and issues - things you find out there.
I'm showing my ignorance here, What is a wiki? I'll look it up on the web but I would like your definetion if you could.

A wiki is a website where you and other people can collaborate in creating documents. PBwiki is free (for a basic wiki), and it's pretty easy to use: as easy as making a peanut butter sandwich. :)
Wikipedia is probably the best-known wiki. If you're a Star Wars fan, you might enjoy Wookiepedia.
